Griffin’s Place Programs Director

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate Program Director to lead and coordinate all programs based in the Hillsboro/Washington County area. The Program Director is central to our mission, responsible for overseeing program logistics, volunteer and intern engagement, and communications with participants, families, and partners. This role works closely with the Board of Directors and the Griffin’s Place team to ensure seamless program execution and participant support.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Coordination-

  • Plan, schedule, and attend ALL Griffin’s Place programs held in the Hillsboro/Washington County area.

  • Meet quarterly with Hidden Creek Community Center Adaptive Rec Coordinator to discuss and schedule upcoming events.

  • Ensure all program logistics, supplies, facilities and instructors are scheduled and prepared in advance.

  • Transport and manage program supplies between Griffin’s Place storage and event locations.

  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for participants at all events.

  • Maintain organization and inventory of materials in storage unit.

Volunteer & Intern Oversight-

  • Recruit, train, schedule and supervise volunteers to support ongoing

    programming.

Communication & Administration-

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participant families and community

    partners via Griffin’s Place email and cell phone.

  • Monitor and respond to communications in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate records of communications, program attendance, and

  • volunteer engagement.

  • Attend and staff booth at occasional community resource fairs to promote

  • programming

  • Attend Board and Committee meetings as needed

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and committees to advance programming and organizational goals. 

  • Provide administrative and operational updates to support organizational planning and growth.

Details

Status: Part-time (10–30 hours per month to start, with potential for growth)

Schedule: Flexible, will include some evenings; majority of administrative tasks

may be performed remotely; office space available in Hillsboro

Compensation: $25 per hour, with potential for growth (no benefits included)

Background check required prior to employment

Passion for working with individuals with disabilities and a commitment to

inclusion.

Experience in program management, volunteer coordination, or a related field

(non-profit experience preferred).

Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.

Strong interpersonal abilities and a collaborative spirit.

Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, Mailchimp).

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Personal transportation and valid insurance.

Must be 18 years or older.

High school Diploma or equivalent required.

Griffin’s Place Board Member – Job Description

Board members play a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of Griffin’s Place and supporting its mission. We are seeking passionate, engaged individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities through program development, fundraising activities, and enhanced connections in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and actively participate in 8-10 board meetings (virtual or in-person) a years.

  • Serve on at least one board committee or working group.

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight for organizational planning, programming, and growth.

  • Support fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation and event participation.

  • Act as an ambassador for Griffin’s Place in the community.

  • Review and approve annual budgets, financial reports, and key policies.

  • Leverage your personal and professional networks to advance the mission of Griffin’s Place.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Griffin’s Place.

  • Willingness to dedicate time, expertise, and resources to board activities and

  • Griffin’s Place events.

  • Experience in nonprofit, business, advocacy, education, or related fields is a plus.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Individuals with lived experience or connections to the disability community are

  • especially encouraged to apply.

Term:

Board members serve a two-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
