Volunteers are integral to Griffin’s Place and help us to make a more inclusive community!
We have many different types of volunteer opportunities. Some of the tasks are for a single person, but many can be performed by a group of friends, office colleagues, or an organization. Take a minute to review the sample list below. If you find one of interest or have ideas of your own, complete the application form and we’ll get in touch!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! Please use the link below to download the easy-to-fill-out application form and email it back to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Volunteer Opportunities Available
We hold a number of events throughout the year that require help to greet, serve, decorate, set up/ tear down, direct participants to quiet areas, help gather feedback with surveys, and join in the fun to get everyone having a great time! We may also go on trips to the Zoo, a Hops game, or a museum and love having a large team of volunteers just to make everyone comfortable.
Many of our events require us to set up areas in shared spaces and then tear them down at the end of the event. If you can’t commit to working an entire event, or if the thought of interacting with large crowds of people makes you nervous, this would be a great role for you. This suits people who can lift and carry heavy items, move tables and chairs, and help set up things like our fun photobooths!
Work with our participants 1 or 2 hours, once a week or once a month in your area of expertise. Some ideas include: a writing, dance, yoga, meditation, knitting, hiking, bird watching, pottery, music, history, science, cooking, home and life skills, and more! If you can teach it, we want you to share!
Team Griffin’s Street Team
Work with our Activities Director to contact participants with upcoming events by phone outreach, school visits to talk to classes, or hanging flyers in local spaces.
If you have a background in fundraising, grant writing, or volunteer recruitment and management we would love to hear from you!
Do you have a story to tell about your life or an idea for a blog post about things that affect you and the community? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to review films or restaurants specifically for people who may have sensory issues? Or do you love trying out new recipes and want to share them with an audience? We’d love to expand our blog to include personal stories and articles about information that is especially pertinent to the community. Reach out and pitch your ideas to us and we’d love to work with you!
We at Team Griffin are ALWAYS looking for a talented photographer to capture our epic events on film! If you want to come enjoy our parties and take pictures, this is the right fit for you!
You tell us!
Do you have something else entirely in mind? That’s great too! We’d love to hear about it!
